Marie Curie

Episode 1: Marie Curie Rebel Women Podcast

In the first episode of Rebel Women Podcast, Marie Curie makes her appearance. A double Nobel Prize winner, once in physics and once in chemistry, Marie Curie was an incredible woman who discovered radioactivity and two elements. In this episode, your host, Ana Heermann, covers her young life and education, her journey to the discovery of polonium and radium, her later life after winning her first and second Nobel Prizes, and her contribution during WWI. While an hour is not nearly enough to cover every detail of her life, a decent snapshot is provided. Sources and other information can be found at rebelwomenpodcast.com!

Shameless Grounds Spotlight

For my very first spotlight, I knew I wanted to hear from the owner of Shameless Grounds. This coffee shop/lunch and dinner spot is one of my favorite places to pop into when I am in Benton Park here in St. Louis. Found at 1901 Withnell Ave, St. Louis, MO 63118 at the corner of Lemp Avenue and Withnell Avenue, this little coffee shop hosts a sex-positive library that you can borrow from (if you are local St. Louisan), a myriad of delicious coffee options, some of the best hand-made sandwiches, and in the evening there are alcoholic and non-alcoholic…
