Episode 6: Anne Sexton Rebel Women Podcast

The troubled and complicated life of the poet Anne Sexton is covered in this week's episode. This episode comes with a trigger warning as there are themes of abuse and suicide, so please proceed with caution. • Hatshepsut: Making the Episode

This episode was probably decades in the making if I am being honest. As a young kid, I was obsessed with Ancient Egypt. My dad worked as the executive chef at the St. Louis Art Museum for a time, and every time he brought me into work, I would dash off to the Egyptian wing,

  • Jill Wine-Banks: Making the Episode

For this week’s episode, I had to decide how I wanted to present all the information listeners would need to understand who Jill Wine-Banks was. First, I knew that I needed to tackle the what exactly happened at the Watergate Hotel. I didn’t want to assume that anyone listening knew what had happened because I

  • Selma van de Perre: Making the Episode

The research leading up to the making of this episode was intense to say the least. • Marie Curie: Making the Episode

In reading, listening to audiobooks and researching Marie Curie, I did have a sense of realizing what an enormous topic I had undertaken. I wanted to make sure that I covered every aspect of her life, but she led an incredible life that I simply wouldn’t be able to cover in the amount of time

About Me

Hi, I’m Ana, host of the Rebel Women Podcast

This is a project five years in the making that I cannot wait to produce. I was fortunate enough when I was in elementary school to have a teacher that inspired me to not be dissuaded from succeeding in male-dominated STEM fields. The young woman whose first year teaching a bunch of fourth graders paved the way for me, (and hopefully a few of the other young women in my class) to believe that I could do anything. Through uncovering as many extraordinary women as possible, I hope to pass that inspiration forward. Both a labor of love, and a creative project, Rebel Women will hopefully become something that my listeners love as much as I do.
